Why SATs Star exists
A private tutor costs £30–60 per hour. You'd need weeks of sessions to cover everything, and availability is often limited close to SATs.
Children rarely self-motivate with workbooks. Without structure, feedback, and a reason to keep going, revision just doesn't happen.
Even the most involved parents can't track exactly which topics need work. You need insight — not guesswork.
Simple by design
Five minutes after dinner. A quick session before bed. SATs Star fits around your family — not the other way around.
Create an account for your child in under 2 minutes. £19.99 gives you full access — one payment, no subscription.
Each evening, they tap "Start Today's Session." 15 questions, 15 minutes. Maths one moment, a reading extract the next — just like the real papers.
Got it wrong? SATs Star explains why, in plain language your child understands — not a textbook definition. They learn from every mistake, not just tick or cross.
From Trainee Star to SATs Champion — a progress system that keeps children motivated to come back the next evening.
Every Monday morning, a clear summary lands in your inbox: sessions completed, accuracy by subject, topics to focus on, and how many days until SATs.
What they revise
Questions are drawn from a large bank of real SATs-style questions, so every session feels fresh.
Arithmetic and reasoning-style questions mirroring both KS2 Maths papers. Multi-step problems, not just sums.
All three KS2 English paper types: Reading Comprehension, Spelling, and Grammar, Punctuation & Vocabulary (GPS).
For parents
SATs Star keeps you informed so you can support your child, even on busy evenings.
Sessions completed, accuracy by subject, weak topics to focus on — all in a clear, jargon-free summary.
Log in any time to see their streak, rank, accuracy trends, and which topics need the most attention.
Missing a session breaks the streak — children naturally want to maintain it. You'll rarely have to nag.
They climb from Trainee Star to SATs Champion as they complete more sessions — visible progress they can be proud of.

What parents say
"My daughter actually asks to do her session before bed now. We've never managed to get her to revise consistently before. The streak system is genius."
"The explanations when he gets something wrong are brilliant — it actually explains WHY in simple language. So much better than just marking it red and moving on."
"The weekly email is perfect for me — I'm always busy but I can see exactly how she's doing and which topics to encourage her to focus on. Great value too."
Questions answered
SATs Star is designed specifically for Year 6 children (age 10–11) preparing for KS2 SATs in England. All questions are written to match the difficulty and style of the official test papers.
Maths and English. English covers all three KS2 paper types: Reading Comprehension, Spelling, and Grammar/Punctuation/Vocabulary (GPS). Maths covers both Arithmetic and Reasoning paper styles.
Sessions are designed to take around 15 minutes. There's a 15-minute countdown timer in the app. Most children complete all 15 questions comfortably within that time — some quicker, some a little longer.
One session per day is the intended pattern — consistent daily practice is more effective than cramming. The dashboard will show today's session as complete once they've finished, encouraging them to return tomorrow.
For multiple choice questions, answers are checked instantly. For written short answers, we use AI to intelligently mark the response — accepting equivalent answers, correct spellings, and partial sentences where appropriate. It's much more forgiving and accurate than a simple text match.
SATs Star works in any web browser — on phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. There's no app to download. It's designed mobile-first so it works great on a phone or tablet.
We don't offer a free trial, but at £19.99 — less than a single hour with a private tutor — we think the value speaks for itself. If you have questions before signing up, feel free to get in touch.
KS2 SATs take place in the week commencing 11 May 2026. That means your child has every day between now and then to build their confidence with daily practice.
